Gelato means "frozen" in Italian. In Italy, the term encompasses all ice-cream-esque desserts, including custards, frozen yogurts, and sorbets. Compared to ice cream, gelato has a relatively specific set of characteristics which result in a denser and creamier final product. Our gelato at The Cremeria is Bolognese style, which makes it even more particular in flavor and quality.
